Get Paid to Surf programs essentially are programs which pay you to see advertisements on your computer while you surf. This is accomplished by using the company's Viewbar, which displays ads while docked to the bottom or the top of the screen as you surf. These bars are very small, and you can have more than one on at any time (for example, I often have three or four open while I surf, allowing me to earn 4x more than normal!) In exchange for viewing these ads, the companies pay you a certain amount, either a fixed hourly rate or a percentage of their profits (for example, Cashsurfers, Pays U, and Spedia all offer similar programs, but with different pay scales). There's also the Get Paid to Read E-mail portion of this type of money making program. These companies pay you by visiting their sponsors' sites, but this time it's through email.
My advice to you is to follow my lead - sign up for all of the programs I list on this site, and then cancel the ones you don't want. Personally, I've never cancelled any of them, as they've all worked great and pay very well. The key, however, to making real money (beyond the $20/month or so that you yourself would make surfing) is referrals. Immediately after you sign up for these great programs, email your friends, family, colleagues, and tell them about these great programs. This will help you build up your referral network, and the bigger your network, the more money you'll make. Despite the unimaginative name, Paid For Surf is a great program. The viewbar is currently available at $0.40/hour, and checks are being rolled out.
